Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco
In principal always dutiable, even part of removal goods, however inspector can make
exceptions. Special tax/ import duty and normal tax up to quantity, alcoholic percentage, etc.
Antiques and Works Of Art
As part of removal goods no special documents. As merchandise/trade free of import duty
only tax payable.
Diplomatic Removals
HHE and PE free of any import duty and/or taxes. Customs authorities do have the right to
make inspection.
Firearms and Weapons
In principal as part of removal goods free of duty and/or taxes. However, special license
necessary.
Household Goods and Personal Effects
Used household goods or personal effects in principal are free of any import duty tax payable,
also for second house. Owner has to declare to be the owner before importing for at least one
year, and to remain the owner after importing for at least another year.
Remarks: Owner must prepare the Certificate of Exemption before arrival of the consignment in order to
avoid delay in clearance time. Documents necessary for getting Cert. of Exemption: (1)
application form for same (2) Certificate registration town-hall (3) rental/buying contract house
(4) statement of employer (5) inventory in duplicate with value declaration (second-hand
value, not insurance value).
New Furniture
New items as part of removal goods always dutiable
Pets and Animals
Depending kind of pet/ animal quarantine possible. Apply/investigate details in advance case
by case
Vehicles
Motor vehicles as part of removal goods in principal free of any duty and tax. Import
regulations as removal goods. Other motor vehicles payable with duty and/or taxes. Import
only via special customs houses.
